The Cotswold Event 2009

Posted: 06 April 2009 15:03

Well after mixed reports about the weather we woke up to a glorious blue sky and sunshine, a little different to last year’s event! This must be an omen I thought.

The day commenced by meeting at The Puesdown Inn in the midst of the Cotswolds, who kindly opened their doors to us at 8.30 in the morning, where we enjoyed their kind hospitality of meeting and greeting with coffee and biscuits.

9.30am and time to go, time for a photo opportunity and off! The Noise of the cars departure was amazing and something I will never forget, particularly from the Lamborghini, I can still hear it ringing in my ears now!!

The Cars were followed by our production partner who stopped off at strategic points to film the event and the cars as they passed on their way to the next destination or question to be answered. Some of the footage will appear on the site for all to see.

Our first stop of the day was at a local Garden Centre where after more coffee and cake was consumed, our members had a task to purchase the cheapest item they could find, this showed who was careful with their money and the winning purchase was as little as 1p. Not letting them rest we even suggested they call into the local estate agent in one village because their logo just happened to be a Prancing Horse and pass themselves off as a prospect to obtain a set of house details.

The cars then enjoyed a detour to the Cotswold Wildlife Park where here another purchase was made for charity this time, of a cuddly animal which we asked- “ best resembled you” Hmmmm…some curious one’s here! From Dinosaurs to Cheeky Monkeys’. From here it was time to head for lunch and a veritable feast awaited us at the Fosse Manor Hotel and the car park equally looked a veritable choice, we did take this over in a sea of red and it was a great opportunity to look over the variety of exotica that had turned up for the day, ranging across the board of various Ferrari 360’s, 430’s 328’s, Challenge Stradale’s, Spiders, Gallardo’s, Porsches, Aston Martin to name too few.

Back out onto the road for the last part of the quiz and some more glorious Cotswold roads. We took our members to Steam Railway stations, they even had to drive to a choice of motor dealer to get their car appraised and be successful to leave with a brochure in the name of getting those extra valued points, after all an itouch was at stake here. The runner up also went away with a case of mixed wines and the winner of best turned out car a bottle of Champagne all kindly donated with the compliments of our partner NW Brown.

The day turned out to be the hottest of the year so far and made way for a brilliant evening with dinner at our final destination The Hatherley Manor Hotel, a beautiful 17th Century Hotel where we enjoyed a silver service dinner in the company of a fantastic Jazz Band who played for us all evening much merriment with dancing and socialising the night away and a lot of new friendships made.. ahh.. can’t wait for the next one now!

With Thanks to all those who came and helped make it the event it was, so too all the kind support we received from the places we stopped at or took over!

Treasure hunt through the Cotswolds

Posted: 12 March 2009 21:56

During April we will be organising our Spring Treasure Hunt through the beautiful Cotswold Hills. This will be Route324’s second event, the first event organised during that cold early Easter of last year.

We’ve added some fun to the event, with quite a few questions to get through and the lucky winner will receive an iTouch, courtesy of our Insurance Sponsor NW Brown Ltd.

We’ll start off fairly early, followed by a coffee stop, then onto lunch and finally the day’s proceedings will end at a beautiful Hotel where the remaining guests will receive a silver service dinner whilst being entertained by a local Jazz band.

We’re expecting a great turnout, with top exotica ranging from Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Maseratis to some of the well known German & Italian marques.

Last year with Easter falling in March, we experienced snow! But the die hard Ferrari owners remained undeterred and were rewarded with a spectacular day out. Amongst the many attendees was the first ever UK delivered 430 Scuderia – wow what an entrance!

This event is run for our Silver members, now restricted to invitation only. Not only do we save money for our clients through Servicing and Insurance, but we look to generate opportunities for our customers to meet fellow owners by socialising and enjoying their cars on the open road free from speed bumps and congestion.

We will be running an event later in the year, either on the south coast or ‘up north’. These fantastic members only events will be regularly posted on our new look website, so add us to your favourites and register today!
